Refund policy

Well Read Women  Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy

At Well Read Women, we want you to love every book and subscription you receive. This policy explains when and how refunds, returns, or cancellations apply to both one-time book purchases and subscription orders.

1. One-Time Book Purchases

Returns

  • You may return any unopened and unused book within 14 days of delivery for a full refund
  • To be eligible, the item must be in its original condition and packaging
  • You are responsible for return postage costs unless the item is faulty or incorrect

Refunds

  • Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you of the outcome
  • Refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 5–10 working days

Faulty or Incorrect Items

  • If you receive a damaged, faulty, or incorrect book, please contact us at hello@wellreadwomen.co.uk within 7 days of delivery
  • We will arrange a replacement or full refund, including return shipping costs where applicable

2. Book Subscriptions

Cancellations

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time
  • To avoid being charged for the next box, you must cancel before the 8th of the month, which is when renewals are processed
  • Cancellations made on or after the 8th will take effect the following month

Selections & Billing

  • Each month, our six selections are announced on the 1st. Subscribers are asked to lock in their choice by the 7th, ahead of billing on the 8th
  • If you haven't made your selection before the billing date, we'll reach out to give you a chance to choose
  • If we don't hear back, don't worry — we'll handpick one of that month's selections for you based on your previous picks and reading history, so you'll never miss out on a great book

Refunds

  • Subscription payments are refundable within 3 days of billing. After this point, your box enters our curation and personalisation process and we are unable to offer a refund
  • If you believe you are entitled to a refund outside of this window, please contact us at hello@wellreadwomen.co.uk and we'll always do our best to help

Damaged or Missing Items

  • If an item in your subscription box arrives damaged or missing, please contact us at hello@wellreadwomen.co.ukwithin 7 days of delivery
  • We will replace the item or provide a partial refund where appropriate

3. How to Request a Refund or Return

To start a return or refund request, please contact us at hello@wellreadwomen.co.uk. Please include your order number and the reason for your return and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

4. Your Consumer Rights

This policy does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
