Welcome to Well Read Women. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website, services, and purchases. By accessing our site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. General Information

• Well Read Women is a book subscription and online bookstore based in the UK
• Our website is intended for users aged 18 and over
• We reserve the right to update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted with a revised date

2. Orders & Subscriptions

• By placing an order, you confirm that all details provided are accurate and complete
• Subscription billing takes place on the 8th of each month. Boxes are dispatched around the 12th–15th
• If payment fails, we reserve the right to pause or cancel your subscription
• Subscription boxes are curated in advance and are non-refundable once processed (see Refund Policy for details)

3. Pricing & Payment

• All prices are listed in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable
• Payment is taken at the time of purchase or renewal
• We accept all major debit/credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and Stripe

4. Shipping & Delivery

• Full details are outlined in our Shipping Policy
• We are not liable for delays outside our control (postal strikes, customs delays, etc.)
• Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping details

5. Returns & Refunds

Returns and refunds are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on our website (logos, images, text, branding) is owned by Well Read Women and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without permission. Well Read Women is a UK registered trademark.

7. Limitation of Liability

• To the maximum extent permitted by law, Well Read Women is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of our products or services
• Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the product or subscription in question

8. User Conduct

You agree not to use our website or services to:

• Engage in unlawful activity
• Distribute harmful or malicious content (e.g., viruses, spam)
• Infringe on intellectual property rights

9. Gift Vouchers

• Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase
• Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash and are non-transferable
• Vouchers may be used against any product or subscription available on our website at the time of redemption
• Well Read Women is not responsible for lost or stolen vouchers
• Vouchers have no cash value and cannot be used in conjunction with other promotional offers unless otherwise stated

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland, England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts.

Gift Subscription T&Cs

Purchasing a gift subscription

• Gift subscriptions are available for the durations shown at checkout. A 3-month gift subscription includes three monthly book selections of the purchased format, redeemable at any time within 12 months of activation.
• Payment is taken in full at the time of purchase. The date shown on your order confirmation is the "issue date".
• Gift subscriptions cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be resold.

Activation

• To activate the gift subscription, the recipient must email us at hello@wellreadwomen.co.uk. The subscription is not active, and no monthly selections will be sent, until we receive this email.
  
  
• Gift subscriptions must be activated within one (1) year of the issue date. Any gift subscription not activated within this period will expire and will no longer be valid. Expired gift subscriptions cannot be activated, extended, or refunded.
  
  
• When activating, the recipient must provide a valid UK delivery address. We are not responsible for delays or non-delivery caused by incorrect details provided to us.

Monthly selections and dispatch

• On the 1st of each month, the recipient will receive an email with that month’s book choices, for as long as they have unused selections remaining.
• To redeem a selection that month, the recipient must submit their pick using the form linked in that email by the 8th of the month. One selection may be redeemed per month.
• If no pick is submitted by the 8th, no book will be dispatched that month and the selection is kept for a future month. Selections do not need to be taken consecutively.
• Orders are dispatched a few working days after the 8th of the month, in line with all our subscription shipments.
• The delivery address can be updated for future deliveries by contacting us before the 8th of the month.

Redemption period

• All selections must be redeemed within twelve (12) months of activation. Any selections not redeemed within this period will expire and cannot be redeemed, extended, exchanged, or refunded.
• Selections have no cash value and cannot be transferred to another person once the subscription has been activated.

Cancellations and refunds

• If you are a consumer in the UK, you have a legal right to cancel your purchase within 14 days of the issue date without giving a reason, provided the subscription has not been activated and no delivery has been dispatched. To cancel, contact us at hello@wellreadwomen.co.uk and we will issue a full refund to the original payment method.
• Once a gift subscription has been activated, it cannot be cancelled and no refund will be given for unused selections, except where required by law.

6. General

• We may refuse to activate a gift subscription we reasonably believe has been obtained fraudulently.
• We may update these terms from time to time; the terms in force on the issue date apply to your gift subscription.
